Ames MyFile Interactive Health Widgets (IHW) provides users with the unique ability to customize their Personal Health Dashboard with pre-define “Health Widgets”. The definition of a Widget in the Web 2.0 world is a mini-web application that can be added to your web page, blog or social profile that can quickly and easily provide you with user specific information, extra functionality, and even a bit of fun and games. Widgets are available in a ready-to-use formats and are visually attractive and customizable by the user. It takes the form of pictures, graphs, statistics, summaries, etc. These Health Widgets fall into four categories which match the four quadrants of the PhD. The categories are:
· MAPs
· Life
· Health Stats
· Learning
MAPs
Widgets provide the reporting of the status of MyFile Action Plans. The reporting can be in graphical format such as a Gantt
or Bar Charts or in report formats. Up to four widgets can be selected to display your Action Plan status.
Life Widgets
provide for data capture and reporting of personal activities and present the data in both graphical and reporting formats. Also
Life Widgets can be used to access key personal health information like X-Rays or MRI’s.
Health Stats Widgets access your Personal
Health Record and Health Risk Assessment data and present status summaries in both graphical and report formats. Short cut widgets
are also available which allow a user to quickly access data entry screens to update key information like daily glucose readings or
calorie intake.
Learning Widgets link to information resources such as the Ames MyFile Medical Reference library, news feeds
on the latest medical topics, customized learning action plans like Sudoku puzzles, and/or sponsor directed daily information knowledge
bursts such as Gospel messages.
