The Health Illustrated Encyclopedia – Multimedia Edition is a collection of over 3,600 healthcare articles containing articles, images,
illustrations and animations on diseases, conditions, symptoms, injuries, surgeries, tests, nutrition and other preventive health
topics. This information is includes the following:
Articles - the Encyclopedia articles are written in consumer-friendly language
and categorized by Diseases, Symptoms, Injuries, Surgeries & Procedures, Tests, Poisons, Nutrition, and Special Topics. (See a Sample)
Animations - a collection of approximately 80 animations within the Encyclopedia articles as they relate to the
conditions, body systems, procedures, or other topics described in the articles. Flash-based HD/3D animations will be included as
they are released by Adam.
Images – over 2,000 full-color images, illustrations, and photos that complement the articles.
Surgeries
& Procedures – a collection of approximately 170 web-enabled presentations that provide a frame-by-frame explanation of common
medical procedures and surgeries.
The Symptom Navigator is a visual tool that provides an entry point into the Symptom section
of the Health Illustrated Encyclopedia. It is available in two sizes, Widget and Full size. The compact version also provides a link
to the full size version.
In-Depth Reports: A library of over 100 detailed medical reports on health conditions and problems for the patient, each providing
comprehensive explanations of symptoms, diagnostic tests, risk factors, treatment options, recent research findings, and research
findings, and resources for further information or support. The reports are reviewed and edited annually with updates made available
on a quarterly basis. Many of the reports include animations and illustrations.
The Body Guide: The Body Guide is an interactive tool providing consumer-oriented information on anatomy and physiology. It
facilitates navigation between the 12 systems of the body, both male and female, allowing Users to identify various anatomical structures. Structure items are identified with both their “scientific” term and their “consumer” term where applicable. The text contains
hyperlinks to text and illustrated images to learn about the 12 systems of the body.
